KangaWU is Alive!

With a relatively smooth launch of Wurm Unlimited on Steam last night as well as 6 hours of stressed server setup for KangaWU, we’re happy to say that the server was live at the moment of WU release, and has been up and enjoying a healthy amount of players since. We’d like to welcome all the new players to KangaWU and hope you all enjoy your stay here. With that out of the way, let’s get into some useful information.

Wurm Unlimited KangaWU Australian Server

The map for the KangaWU server is available to view here: http://i.imgur.com/Ef5XE3A.jpg

It is a 2048×2048 sized map, so the same size as Deliverance on Wurm Online, and should have a fairly large range of biomes and forests available. Some areas may seem to have a lot of grasslands, but keep in mind that over time the forests will slowly grow out and take over those lands. This is the new permanent map, and it won’t be changing for any time in the foreseeable future.

Skill rates are currently set to 3x along with action timers at 3x, we’ll run with these values for a bit and see if we need to change them in the future, they seem good for now though.

Deeds are currently free to place with no upkeep required, just don’t go too crazy with them. We won’t put in a hard limit for deed sizes at the moment, but we still reserve the right to nuke deeds and make you replant them if they’re just huge areas of land you’re not using. We may revisit this in the future if we start running out of land, or need a way to keep the server alive (hosting costs money, yo). For now, enjoy yourselves!

Retrograde has put up a Teamspeak server for everyone on the server to use, you can get to that from ts.kangawu.com.au:9177

That’s all for now, if you have any questions or problems in game feel free to hit up either myself (Budda), Taufiq or Retrograde.
